Many
software programs are changed to fix security problems after they
have been on the market for awhile. Microsoft's windows software
has security updates that come out as often as every week. You should
check the companies web site or use the built-in update feature
to make sure you have the most current version or security patches
installed on your computer at least once a month.

Other
programs may have an update feature also. For example, Adobe Acrobat
Reader (a program you most likely have installed on your computer
to allow you to view files on web pages) can check for updates from
the Help selection on the menu (see below).

Use
the Help menu on some of your other programs to see if they need
updated.
